Q&A

What do you love most about your job?

I love that I get to spend time with kids of all ages (from newborns to young adults), and their parents. It is an honor to be trusted with their care.

What are your hobbies/general interests?

Travel (I love exploring new places), reading, and musical theater.

What's something you think people would be surprised to learn about you?

I grew up with many animals - in addition to a dog and a cat, over the years we had a rabbit, guinea pig, toucan, slow loris, chinchilla and a roller-skating cockatoo!

Why did you choose to go into Pediatrics?

I loved the idea of being able to spend time with kids of all ages all day long! I also studied psychology and child development (and my mom was a psychology professor), so I liked the idea of being able to help parents (and kids) understand normal development, and supporting them when well and through illness.

Tell us about your family life (including pets!)

I live in Oak Park with my husband, two daughters, and our dog, Teddy, a soft coated wheaten terrier. We love to travel, go for walks/bike rides, and my kids do a lot of musical theater so luckily I love musicals!!

What is your comfort food?

I love Indian food and ice cream. I also love trying new foods from around the world.

What was your favorite book growing up?

Anne of Green Gables

Have you participated in any charity work/giving back to the community?

As a family, we have volunteered serving meals at a local homeless shelter. I have loved leading my daughters’ girl scout troops, and more recently it has been rewarding to be involved with the effort to help refugees in Oak Park get settled into more permanent homes.

What/who inspires you?

I am inspired by everyone who advocates for kids.
