Our Doctors
After residency, Dr. Liber did what is rarely done today: he opened up a solo practice, hanging his shingle to start Wheaton Pediatrics in 1987 with one nurse, and one receptionist. The practice has since grown to include full- and part-time pediatric clinicians, a mental health counselor, and a lactation counselor.
"I chose to go into Pediatrics because the pediatric group in my hometown was a great role model. I had a tremendously positive experience with them the summer after my first year of medical school."
Dr. Liber is comfortable treating all kinds of conditions in children and adolescents, but is especially interested in treating ADHD. Personally, he and his wife Adrianna have been married for over 37 years, and have four grown children (two boys and two identical twin girls) and a dog named Charlie Brown. In his limited spare time, he enjoys hiking, biking, and home improvement projects.
"My parents inspired me. They were uprooted from their home in a war-torn Eastern Europe during WWII. They eventually ended up in America with an opportunity to create a new life and took advantage of it through hard work and perseverance. My mother was a microbiologist at the local hospital and my father was a chemist in a steel mill."
A native of Gary, Indiana, Dr.Liber was an undergraduate at the University of Chicago before earning his MD from Indiana University. He completed his residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital (now Lurie Children’s Hospital) in Chicago. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
For a number of years, Dr. Liber has been recognized by his peers as one of Chicago’s “Top Doctors” in the Castle Connolly Guide/Chicago Magazine. He has received service awards from Central DuPage Hospital and Lurie Children's Hospital. Dr. Liber has been active in the Lurie Children's Hospital Medical and Dental staff leadership team and was elected President of the Medical and Dental staff from 2015-2016.
