"I love having the opportunity to watch children grow from the time they are newborns through adulthood. Getting to know children and their families and help them stay healthy and thrive into adulthood is the best part about primary care"
Kelsey has always had a passion for working with children. Starting as a babysitter when she was younger, as well as caring for her two younger brothers, she loved it. In school, science became her favorite subject and she was fascinated by the human body. When she entered college, she knew that she wanted to go into medicine and work with children, making pediatrics a perfect fit!
"Having the opportunity to care for sick and well kiddos is so rewarding. Children are resilient, smart and so fun!"
Q&A
What are your hobbies/general interests?
I love spending time with family and friends. I love outdoor activities such as water skiing, snow skiing, boating, snorkeling and more! I love to travel and see all the beautiful places and incredible cultures around the world.
Have you participated in any charity work/giving back to the community?
During nursing school I had the opportunity to go to Kenya, Africa on a medical mission trip. We served and treated thousands of families in the slums of Nairobi. It was the most incredible and humbling experience and I would love to travel and care for patients around the world again someday.
What's on your playlist right now? Do you have a favorite music genre/artist?
I am a big country music fan and a big music fan in general. I grew up listening to classic rock and the alternative and pop hits of the 80s and 90s and have come to love country music in adulthood. Anything with a great beat and fun lyrics and I’m in! I love going to concerts and listening to live music in the summer!
