Our Doctors
Dr. Goynshor is a board-certified pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She received her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 2003 and completed her pediatric residency at the Loyola University Ronald McDonald Children’s Hospital in 2006.
She is married and has two strong-willed, creative, and amazing daughters, Haylie & Lilly. In her spare time, she loves riding to nowhere on her Peloton bike, reading, traveling, and watching her daughters at their various activities... Yes, she is a soccer mom AND a dance mom.
"I find joy in being a part of the lives of my patients and their families. For me, pediatrics is not just about the child, it is about the entire family. I derive a great sense of satisfaction being able to help parents, family members, and kids navigate the complexities of ‘growing up."
She has a special passion for children and teens with complex medical needs and autism spectrum disorders. She loves treating children whose developmental trajectories may be less typical than others.
"I hope to empower parents and children to make the best decisions about their health by giving guidance and options. I love watching babies grow to toddlers, toddlers to children, and children to young adults. It is a privilege and an honor, and I do not take it for granted."
Q&A
Who/what inspires you?
I was inspired by my father, who is an Ophthalmologist, and my first experience with a female physician, an ENT at Children's Memorial who took out my tonsils when I was in 5th grade.
If I weren’t a pediatrician, I’d be a ____
I initially thought I would be an OB/GYN, as I studied women's health during undergrad. However, it was apparent I would be a pediatrician during my obstetrics rotation. My mentor, who was the chair of the department of OB/GYN, recalls knowing that I would be a pediatrician before I did. I guess I was more concerned about the baby than the mother (I'm not sure if that is entirely true, but that is how he tells the tale).
How else are you involved in your community?
I volunteer and participate in several committees at my synagogue. I run the annual carnival there, too. (Clearly, I gravitate to activities for children).
