Elizabeth Michaels

Dr. Michaels is a devoted mother of two teenagers and passionate about caring for children both professionally and personally. She is a treasured member of our team at Lake Shore Pediatrics, and she enjoys seeing all of your children in the practice.

"I went into pediatrics because adults don't take care of themselves and have problem lists 20 miles long!  Surgeons have to stand up for too long!  I just had the most fun doing pediatrics and you can make a huge difference in someone's life,  you get to watch kids grow and go through all sorts of experiences!"

Dr. Michaels is a Clinical Instructor at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and is the head Managing Partner at Lake Shore Pediatrics.

Personally, Dr. Michaels has a supportive, hilarious, and helpful husband...  We have Lulu, a husky lab mix and Hazel, a pit bull mix that go running with me almost every morning. We are active and on the go, but we are also fantastic at being lazy and vegging out watching classic movies. I’m super busy, but it is so rewarding.” Dr. Michaels has run marathons across the country. She also enjoys cooking, riding the Peloton bike, and jigsaw puzzles.

"What I love most about my job are the hilarious things kids say, and their crushing honesty."

Dr. Michaels received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and her DO from Midwestern University: Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed her residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
