Dr. Colen has had the privilege of caring for the children of Pediatric Associates of Barrington since 2007 and is proud to have helped thousands of young patients in the years in between!

Dr. Colen’s dedication to top-quality care shines through in every interaction he has with his patients and their families. He’s even been recognized by Chicago Magazine as one of their “Top Docs!” He loves taking care of kids of all ages, and particularly enjoys helping new parents learn about their newborns’ and infants’ care and development.
Away from the office, Dr. Colen is an avid traveler and skiing enthusiast. When he’s not out and about, he stays fit and healthy through regular exercise using workout routines he’s developed himself. He loves music and is a pianist in his own right. Dr. Colen also enjoys having a laugh at comedy shows!
Dr. Colen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign and medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of South Florida. Dr. Colen is a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

What’s your comfort food?
Sushi, but it's a very expensive comfort food, so I don't eat it as frequently as I would like to.
Do you have any nicknames?
My family used to call me "Butch" when I was younger, and I'm still not sure why.
