Ann Giese

Every day, Dr. Giese looks forward to helping all of her patients lead an active, happy and healthy lifestyle!

As a Pediatrician, a huge portion of my job is to help parents make informed choices to help keep their children and our population healthy.

 

Dr. Giese is a passionate educator, and has a special interest in caring for infants and children with food allergies. She not only advocates for her patients, but she also is very active in supporting her local community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped coordinate the delivery of thousands of lunches to outpatient Cook County Health workers on the front lines through a grassroots effort.

 

Born and raised in Evanston, Dr. Giese and her husband now reside in the area with their two sons.  When she’s not taking care of patients, you can find Dr. Giese outside as she is an avid skier, biker, hiker, and loves visiting the beach.  She enjoys reading, and she spends quite a bit of her free time participating in or watching sports with her family!

 

Dr. Giese received her undergraduate degree from Middlebury College in Vermont.  She attended the University of Minnesota Medical School for her medical degree as well as her residency program, and spent seven years as a pediatric hospitalist prior to joining Elm Street Pediatrics


Q&A


What community activities have you participated in?

As a high school and college student I spent 3 summers working as a public health volunteer in South America.  At the age of 16, I worked with a small team, we vaccinated over 4,000 kids in 8 weeks!


What/who inspires you?

My Mom--she's the best.

Whatever music my favorite Peloton instructors are playing.
